How do I use ScanSharp with e-MDs?
The following instructions assumes that you have setup ScanSharp and it is running. The usual configuration settings we recommend for ScanSharp to work with e-MDs is scanning at 150 dpi, and saving in JPEG format into a directory of your choice. We also recommend using the fixed filename option so the existing file gets overwritten as you do new scans.
Note: Since e-MDs requires the front and back sides of the image to be sperate, you will need to turn off concatenation from the ScanSharp configuration.
1. Scan a insurance card. If you have a simplex scanner, please ensure that you scan the card twice (face down) to obtain both sides of the image.
2. Pull up a patient record (You will probably see Bill patient for the window title).
3. After you add the insurance company name you will see a screen to import images (there is a folder icon for the front side and back side). Click on that to import the front, then the back side for the insurance card.
