Can I scan both sides of the card in one pass?
This feature is commonly known as the duplex scanning capability. There are imaging units on the top and bottom of the feeder area which allows both sides of the card to be read when the card is fed through. This makes for time saving for the user because the user does not have the scan the second side of the card (which is the case for most insurance cards). Another advantage of this type of scanner is that the user does not have to remember to scan the second side which may contain key information. Another type of scanner that can only scan one side of the card in one pass is known as a simplex scanner.
The DocketPort 485 and the DocketPort 685 scanners are duplex scanners that is currently sold by us. Please note that the duplex feature may not necessary be enabled by your Practice Management (PM) Software or Electronic Medical Records software (EMR) when using it through TWAIN. This is something that the PM or EMR needs to enable through their TWAIN settings.
